The 44-year-old victim was mentally ill mother lived with his sick father and a dumb brother was 22 years old.
Waterford police chief Superintendent Zaharudin Rasip said the incident was discovered when a family member told the victim's mother-in-law who lives in Kampung Pauh marijuana that the victim died at 2.30 pm.
"A police report was lodged by the victim's brother-in-law at the Police Station Stops Bharu.
"The police to the scene found a rope hanging and a chair in the living room of the house," he said.
He said the body was taken to Waterford Hospital for autopsy before his family claimed.
"The case was classified as sudden death, there was no foul play in this incident," he said.
The victim was the eldest of eight children, never married and no job.
