Two years jail for stealing ‘Cara Melayu’

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN-A MAN was sentenced by the Magistrates’ Court yesterday to serve two years in jail after he was found guilty for stealing baju Cara Melayu (traditional Malay attire) studs and several items of clothing from stalls at the Airport Mall last year.

Defendant Ali Hj Tengah pleaded not guilty to the charges of stealing, with the aid of an accomplice, two dozen boxes of baju Cara Melayu studs, nine items of printed clothing and two boxes of the baju Cara Melayu.

The presiding Senior Magistrate Hj Nabil Daraina PUKDSSU Hj Badaruddin have ordered for the defendant to serve the jail term with immediate effect.
