Police classify teen’s death over broken sink as sudden death

ALOR SETAR: The case of a teenager who bled to death from an injured leg due to a broken sink at a hotel in Tandop near here has been classified as sudden death.

Tan Ming Shen, 14, was believed to have injured the left thigh in the incident about 12.50am on Saturday.

Alor Setar police chief, ACP Adzaman Mohd Jan said an autopsy showed that Tan died due to excessive bleeding resulting from vascular injuries.

He said Tan and his friends had checked into the hotel at 8.15pm on Feb 14, several hours before the incident.

Meanwhile, Tan's aunt who did not wish to be identified, said the family would wait for an explanation from the hotel managmeent before deciding on the next course of action.

She said Tan would be cremated on Monday.
